Can we find reasons to appreciate the Lord,
even when our lives look messy? How about during those times when He doesn’t
seem to answer our prayers the way we want Him to?
Genuine thankfulness isn’t about things. It’s
not focused on divine performance, either. True appreciation of the Almighty
comes from an understanding of who He is – the Great I AM, who was and is and
evermore shall be the same. When we catch a glimpse of His glory and feel His
love and begin to grasp His mercy for us, can we be anything but thankful?
“O give thanks
unto the Lord; for
he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:34, KJV)
