A dear Christian friend once said, “Hey,
this life is just choir practice for Heaven.” She was talking about Psalm 100.
This is the fun part – or at least, it’s
one of the fun parts. It’s one of the primary reasons believers love to gather
to worship the Lord together.
It’s not about showing off fancy clothes or a new hairstyle. It’s not about dropping off this week’s offering envelope (although tithing is an important part of obeying and worshiping God.) It’s not about catching up on friends’ news for the week.
It’s not about showing off fancy clothes or a new hairstyle. It’s not about dropping off this week’s offering envelope (although tithing is an important part of obeying and worshiping God.) It’s not about catching up on friends’ news for the week.
It’s all about praising God.
“Enter his gates
with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his
name.” (Psalm 100:4, NIV)
It may take some of us a lifetime to learn
to make a truly joyful noise. But, hey. The Bible never says we have to be
pitch-perfect!
