Each November, families gather across the
United States to give thanks for all sorts of blessings and good things. Holidays
of gratitude certainly exist in other countries and cultures as well.
We gotta ask: How do we do throughout the
rest of the year?
This Old Testament Scripture poses a worthy
reminder. (Lord knows, I need it sometimes.) Here’s the example given to God’s
people by the Levites (the priestly ones), as David’s kingship passed along to
his son Solomon:
“And each morning and
evening they stood before the Lord to sing
songs of thanks and praise to him.” (1 Chronicles 23:30, NLT)
Every morning and evening! God is worthy of
all that and so much more.
