Unction
for the Uncertain – Bible First-Aid from A to Z
Up for grabs.
That’s how life
seems on those crazy, hectic, over-scheduled days – when the smallest surprises
set the entire proverbial apple cart to tumbling.
Perhaps without
meaning to, we may load ourselves up with just about all we can carry. Or
others do.
Our schedules
stretch at every seam, along with our budgets. Maybe we push our personal
health to the limit, along with our emotional load-bearing capacity.
And then it comes –
the unexpected tower toppler.
Or perhaps it doesn’t,
but we worry that it might. So we are unsettled and unsure.
But God
offers a solution for our uncertainty.
He draws us from
our doubts and leads us in the power that belongs only to Him.
You who bring good news to Zion,
go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem,
lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid;
say to the towns of Judah,
“Here is your God!” See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.”(Isaiah 40:9-11, New International Version)
