Remedy for
the Rejected– Bible First-Aid from A to Z
It’s awful
to be abandoned, deserted, unfriended, and left out. Ouch. It really feels rotten, especially when we are rejected by those we expect most to love us.
Who doesn’t want to be cherished and valued?
Guess what. You are – far more than you can imagine.
The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee." (Jeremiah 31:3, King James Version)
Jesus knew rejection (see Isaiah 53). He
understands how it feels to be cast aside, ignored, and even detested. And He
calls those who follow Him to embrace His love, even as others reject us.
“Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers.” (Matthew 5:11, Good News Bible)“And as for those who do not receive you, as you go out from that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” (Luke 9:5, New American Standard Bible)
Yes, we hurt when people reject us.
We can't pretend that's not true. But look
who loves us without measure.
