Liniment for the Lonely – Bible First-Aid from A to Z

Lamented that left-out feeling? Voluntary solitude may be a gift, but outright loneliness is another story.

The all-sufficient God has the answer.

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

Father to the fatherless, defender of widows -- this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

"Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20b, King James Version)

Years ago, I heard someone say, "You plus God equals a majority." I'm not sure who came up with that line, but it's a sure bet God doesn't intend to leave His beloved ones lonely. He lingers, and He loves.
