Medicine
for the Mourning – Bible First-Aid from A to Z
Believers are not certainly
immune to moments or melancholy or seasons of misery. Maybe you feel that way
right now. This life may be anything but rosy at times.
Losses and tragedies can leave us reeling ... and mourning. Even those of deepest faith may find themselves devastated with grief. That doesn't mean they don't believe. It just means life seems to have crumbled for a while.
But God offers hope for those how mourn.
The best days
really are on the way, even if we cannot see them from here. Hold on. God has a
happy surprises beyond our wildest dreams, just around the bend. And He wants to embrace you, especially as you walk through this mournful season.
The lowly He sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
(Job 5:11, New International Version)
Then young women will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness;
I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
(Jeremiah 31:13, New International Version)
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
(Matthew 5:4, King James Version)
