The world seems to be ripping at the seams all around us.
How many faithful ones are calling for the Lord’s return? Who’s eagerly
awaiting the end of days? This is a prevalent plea, although parents who are yet
uncertain about kids’ salvation may beg to differ. See, that’s the thing about praying for God’s Kingdom to
come immediately. Who might miss out? Maybe the mere mention spurs us to pray
even harder for our own loved ones.
Paul and Silas told a jailer to believe in the Lord and that his family would be saved. But how could that be? Parents’ faith doesn’t save their kids, right?
But parents’ faith and faith-filled prayers can move
mountains of mistrust and rivers of rebellion.
It looked like Paul and Silas were going down for the count,
chained in the prison. But God freed them miraculously. And He still runs the
miracle-making business. So let’s keep it up, moms and dads. God’s not finished
with those kids yet.
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” (Acts 16:31, NIV)
Father of freedom and forever, You know a parent’s heart
like no other. Even more than we do, You desire for our kids to know You and
love You and follow You and serve You. We trust that You want to set places for
them at Your table in eternity. We believe. Keeps us faithful in praying that
those we love will come to believe and be saved. We ask in faith and in the name of our wonderful Lord, Your Son Jesus
Christ.
