Our Majestic Maker
(Psalm 111; 130; 131; 141; 146)
Today’s Psalm readings focus largely on the majesty of our Lord’s creation, the wonder of His ways and the power of His great grace.
Let’s take a look at some of the marvelous makings of our great God. These four spectacular displays of creation are in the United States alone. Perhaps you have seen additional natural wonders and have photos to share. Surely, the works of the Lord’s hands testify to His power and creativity.

“Great are the works of the Lord;
They are studied by all who delight in them.
Splendid and majestic is His work,
And His righteousness endures forever.
He has made His wonders to be remembered.”

“The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they
that do His commandments:
His praise endureth for ever.”

“Out of the depths I have cried to You,
O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning –
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.”

“Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;
there is no help for you there.
When they breathe their last,
they return to the earth,
and all their plans die with them.
But joyful are those
who have the God of Israel as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
He made heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them.
He keeps every promise forever.”
Will you pray with me?
Majestic and marvelous Maker,
We praise Your Holy Name.
With Your own hand,
You created the heavens and the earth.
You spoke, and it was so.
Teach us to trust You,
For You are good.
Prompt us to praise You,
As we regard the beauty
Of all You have made.
Surely, your fingerprints may be seen
All around us.
May we remember Your glory
and rejoice.
Amen.
