David Praying
How great is our God of mercy and grace, who restores us to Himself through His own loving-kindness. Even when we fall, He never lets go of us and draws our hearts to repent and seek His open arms again.
David confessed his sin to God, and the Lord heard.
Forgiven and fortified, David stood to his feet again and went back to battle, leading the Israelites under the Lord’s command. The Lord brought victory on every side, defeating the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Arameans, the Edomites and others.
The Lord raised up a strong band of mighty men to serve as military leaders under David. And Israel became established.
Is there anything the Lord cannot do? Is there anyone He cannot use, if he or she will only come to Him humbly? Is there any sin He cannot forgive or any sinner He cannot restore? Will we try to put limits on His love and mercy? How great is our God?
“If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Will you pray with me?
Gracious God,
We are awed by Your glory
And humbled by Your heart.
Thank You for Your mercy,
Which removes our sin
And makes us new again.
Surely,
You have carried the cost
For our rebellion,
Restoring us to Your hand.
We praise You.
Show us how to serve You
And honor You,
For we are grateful.
Amen.
